⚖️Help Stop the Kratom Ban in GA

via The American Kratom Association:

Georgia’s legislature passed an anti-kratom bill, HB181

The kratom community got great news out of Kentucky, but first there’s a big problem in Georgia that we don’t have much time to solve. Georgia’s legislature passed an anti-kratom bill, HB181, that will limit access to kratom in Georgia and create unfair criminal penalties for retailers.

Our only remaining chance to stop the law is to have the Governor veto it but  he only has around 20 days left to either sign or veto so we need your support today.

Please use the form on the Georgia Protect Kratom page to message his office today and be sure and share with other kratom advocates!

💡 How to Use Kratom Stem & Vein for Tolerance Reduction &…

💡Tips for using Stem & Vein for Tolerance Reduction, Maintenance and/or quitting kratom.

👇 Choose from the categories in the dropdowns below for specific information regarding:
💡 Where Can I Buy Kratom Stem & Vein?
💡Stem & Vein Uses & Benefits
💡Stem & Vein Effects & Properties
💡 Stem & Vein Preparation

Uses & Benefits: Some individuals incorporate Kratom Stem & Vein powder into their routines for various reasons especially as a tool to assist with reducing tolerance to Kratom's active compounds, as well as an aid to quitting kratom altogether by means of adding it to their titration schedule (lessening intake over time to avoid the most acute withdrawal symptoms). It is also thought to have a different alkaloid composition, which might provide a unique experience for users seeking a less intense effect.

Reducing Tolerance Approaches:
* Using 2 - 3 gm of Stem & Vein instead of the usual kratom leaf powder per every usual session of the day, for 3 - 4 days will significantly lower tolerance to the kratom leaf powder. Doing this for longer, will result in even lowered tolerance.
* Another method is to add 2 - 3 gm of Stem & Vein atop of the usual kratom leaf powder per every usual session of the day, for 4 - 5 days - this will also lower tolerance to the kratom leaf powder. Doing this for longer, will result in even lowered tolerance.

Quitting Kratom Aid Approach:
* Some have used 2 - 3 gm of Stem & Vein atop of their usual kratom leaf powder for approximately 1 week, then reducing the 'leaf powder' amount by 1/2 gm per day for the 2nd week.
* At this point only the 2 - 3 gm of Stem & Vein will be in rotation, for the next 2 weeks, lower the amount by 1/2 gm per every 3 days until complete.

Kratom Stem and Vein is known to have slightly different properties compared to Kratom powder. Users often describe it as having a more subtle and milder effect. Stem and vein is believed to contain a different alkaloid profile compared to the leaf material. While the leaf material is generally known for its stimulating and sedating properties, stem and vein is often associated with more relaxed and less potent effects (when comparing similar dosage amounts).

Preparation: Stem and vein Kratom can be prepared and used in similar ways to powdered Kratom. It can be brewed into a tea, mixed with other beverages, or encapsulated. However,  stem and vein may require longer steeping or brewing times compared to Kratom powder. The most popular method is the "toss 'n' wash" method w/a jar and some water.

⚖️KCPA Passes in FL (Kratom Consumer Protection Act)

via The American Kratom Association:

Florida Governor Signs KCPA Bill

“Florida has become the latest state to enact Kratom Consumer Protection Legislation with the Florida Governor signing it today.

Also, the threat of Louisiana criminalization has been greatly diminished after all of the messages kratom advocates sent, and a lot of hard work by our legislative team to educate officials there and share your personal testimonials. The Louisiana Kratom Consumer Protection Act is still being considered by the legislature and we’ll share more as it develops.

Thank you for your advocacy!”

📄 Sign the Petition Against the FDA Import Alert

via The American Kratom Association:

Sign the Petition Against FDA Weaponizing the Import Alert

“The kratom community is understandably incredibly concerned by the latest actions of the FDA to use US Marshalls to seize millions of kratom products and start to throttle the availability of kratom products.

Part of the push back against this governmental overreach will be in public discourse and part will be in the courts. So the AKA has created a petition for all to sign and share so we can once again show the FDA the kratom community will not be rolled over. All you have to do is add your name to say you’re against FDA overreach and attacks.”

⚖️ State Ban Bill Resurfaces in Louisiana (AKA)

via The American Kratom Association:

“Even after months of work and pronouncements from lawmakers about favoring consumer protection regulations over criminalization, Louisiana’s Senate reversed course yesterday and passed a kratom criminalization bill. The Sheriff Associations are entrenched against kratom and hold an inordinate amount of power over legislators.

The AKA Legislative team is working in the House to stop passage of the ban bill there, but there’s still a lot of uncertainty.

So to get you the latest we’re holding an emergency advocacy webinar Wednesday night at 7:30 PM ET to ensure you’re updated on the latest in Louisiana, as well as on the status of the Kratom Consumer Protection Acts in Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, and many other states.”

⚖️ FDA’s Unauthorized “Pocket Ban” on Kratom

via The American Kratom Association:

FDA CREATES AN UNAUTHORIZED “POCKET BAN” AUTHORITY ON KRATOM BY ABUSING ITS IMPORT ALERT AUTHORITY!

Recent Action Puts Millions of Americans at Risk of Immediate Public Health Consequences!

WASHINGTON, DC (May 2023) — Recent action by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (“FDA”) to initiate a seizure action on kratom products manufactured and marketed by Botanic Tonics based on “serious safety concerns” by the FDA is directly contradicted by a substantial body of current evidence and data on the safety and addiction profile of kratom.

This FDA action is targeted at a kratom community of 15 million Americans who safely and responsibly use kratom to deny consumer access to kratom products as a “pocket ban” on all kratom products in the United States because FDA has failed to justify a recommendation to classify kratom as a Schedule I substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act (“CSA”).

via The American Kratom Association:

Pre 1994 could change the future!

We love a good investigation story, especially if it is true. So we’re asking for your help with an incredibly important issue the AKA has been working.

As you may know, the AKA has been looking for evidence of how kratom was used and sold before the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994. We want to know of any evidence of how kratom was used in the US, and internationally, before that time. Receipts of transactions in America from that era are unlikely, but if you know of any stores that might have sold kratom in the early 90s, please let us know. Go to www.protectkratom.org/contact

Georgia Update
In Georgia, the AKA and kratom advocates defeated the proposed ban on kratom that was promoted by trial lawyers who have the single objective of destroying the kratom industry.Despite extensive negotiations that converted the ban to a strengthened kratom consumer protection act, there are significant penalties in that legislation that has made some Georgia legislators extremely uncomfortable. HB 181 was tabled and will be reconsidered in the next session of the Legislature that convenes in January 2024.The AKA opposes criminalization of kratom consumers; opposes unfair and onerous criminal penalties that reduces competition and restricts consumer access to kratom products; and we support appropriate regulations on procssing of pure kratom products, with appropriate labeling requirements. 📜 AKA 🏛️ Kratom Legality Update March 1st 2023

via The American Kratom Association:

“Kratom opponents are pulling out all the stops against kratom consumers in 2023. Together we’ve stopped several ban attempts this year, but the attacks aren’t slowing down in March. The latest tactic to harm consumers is to drown us all in product regulation complexity so they confuse consumers and the industry into making criminal mistakes. Look no further than ban activities in Georgia as our fight back has slowed scheduling, but plans to criminalize kratom still remain (Link to Contact Officials in Georgia).

However, it isn’t all bad news as we’ve made great progress with Kratom Consumer Protection Acts in states like Virginia, Florida, and even the Indiana House where kratom is banned. So please join us Thursday March 2nd at 8pm to get the latest information on protecting your rights to consume safe kratom, and how you can help in your state. Join us Thursday @ 8pm EST

Contact Georgia Officials: Georgia’s House is still considering severe restrictions to kratom and we need you to write to officials there. Use and share the form at Protectkratom.org/georgia to share your story and message them why protecting kratom the right way matters. Contact Georgia

📜 🏛️ “Bipartisan Bill Regulating Kratom Introduced in Congress”

Landmark Bipartisan Bill Regulating Kratom in the United States Introduced in Congress

Just in via the American Kratom Association:
Bill will ensure consumers have continued access to safe, regulated kratom products

“The American Kratom Association is elated to announce Federal Kratom Consumer Protection Act legislation has been filed in both the Senate and House. This is a monumental moment for kratom consumers and a significant step towards protecting the rights of millions of Americans. The fight is far from won, but we are only arriving at this exciting event because of the support of so many amazing advocates. Thank you for your dedication and donations, and please read and share the full press release below.

Full Press Release

Washington, D.C. (December 21, 2022) – The bipartisan, bicameral Protect Access to Kratom legislation was introduced in the United States Senate yesterday by U.S. Senators Mike Lee (R-UT) and Cory Booker (D-NJ), and in the US House of Representatives by Congressmen Mark Pocan (D-WI). S.5316 and H.R.9634 will provide needed federal protections for kratom consumers from adulterated products, and to empower consumers to make their own informed choices on kratom products that help them with their health and well-being.

Kratom is a plant that has been used safely for centuries in Southeast Asia and in the United States since the early 1970s. In the last decade kratom consumers have increased significantly where there are now millions of Americans who report responsibly using kratom for a variety of health and wellness purposes, including for an energy boost, increased focus, reducing anxiety, and as a personal harm reduction tool for managing acute and chronic pain.

Proactive consumer protection regulation on a state level has picked up momentum recently – seven states have passed a version of the Kratom Consumer Protect Act. While these laws have been critical in protecting consumers in these states, this federal legislation will provide clear policy across the country for those who produce, distribute, and consume safe kratom products.

“The introduction of this legislation is a landmark victory for kratom consumers across the country. Research has shown kratom to have significantly less potential for harm than substances with a much higher safety and addiction profile and the responsible regulation of kratom products will open the door for continued research. We encourage the swift passage of this bill so that the millions of people who consume kratom every year will have these important protections in place,” said Mac Haddow, Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the American Kratom Association (AKA).

Kratom has a complicated regulatory history in America. In 2016, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration announced their intentions to classify kratom as a Schedule I substance based on FDA recommendations. However, that was rescinded by the DEA following concerns raised by scientists, policymakers, and advocates. In 2018, the Department of Health and Human Services formally withdrew a second FDA scheduling recommendation for kratom citing “the relative lack of evidence, combined with unknown and substantial risk to public health if these chemicals were scheduled at this time.” (Giroir withdrawal letter, August 16, 2018)

In 2021, the World Health Organization Expert Committee on Drug Dependence, comprised of 12 independent scientists from around the globe, reviewed all of the evidence available on kratom and unanimously determined it did not meet the criteria for international scheduling.

“I have heard countless stories of the benefits of kratom experienced by consumers across the country, including veterans, law enforcement officials, and everyday American who credit kratom with saving their lives. This legislation that we introduced today will be life-changing for these Americans. The FDA needs to fulfill its duty to protect consumers, not abuse their powers in ways the Congress never intended,” said Sen. Mike Lee.

Kratom products being standardized and free from adulteration will also be critical for ongoing research. The potential for kratom to be used as a harm reduction tool is actively being explored and was referenced by Dr. Nora Volkow, Director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, during a U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations hearing in May. Research published earlier this year found that kratom has a significantly lower potential for abuse than opioids. The University of Florida is also currently conducting research to explore the potential of kratom being a tool that can help to wean off opioid medications.

“Kratom can be a harm reduction tool for those struggling with opioid dependency across the country – it doesn’t belong in our broken drug scheduling system. This legislation will prevent the criminalization of kratom consumers and distributors while promising scientific research is conducted,” said Congressman Mark Pocan.

Prescription Drug User Fee Act Changes Could Ban Kratom & Supplements

Contact Congress to stop FDA & Big Pharma’s attempt to control supplements and get power to ban kratom

The Prescription Drug User Fee Act reauthorization is being used to give the FDA even more power to threaten kratom and all supplements

Contact Congress Today

The American Kratom Association: “First off, we understand this is getting into the legislative weeds, but this is incredibly important as it could change how all supplements and kratom are controlled by the FDA.
The Prescription Drug User Fee Act or PDUFA is up for reauthorization, and proposed changes to it could give the FDA power to deny registration of all supplements; granting them power to require kratom to be registered, and therefore the power to deny registration and effectively ban all kratom products.
Please contact your congressional representatives today! Go to Protectkratom.org/congress using the link below to complete the email contact for to tell Congressional officials not to support any attempts to require supplement registration.
Supplements are not prescription drugs, and shouldn’t be treated the same.
NOTE: The House Committee on Energy & Commerce is meeting on the PDUFA regulation for the House so we’ve created an additional contact form to be used for them as well.”

Kratom Updates in CO & MO: 2 More States Make History

Great News for Kratom Legality in the U.S.!
The American Kratom Association: “Despite an onslaught of anti-kratom attacks, last week the Colorado and Missouri Kratom Consumer Protection Acts (KCPA) were approved by their state legislators. At present, we expect both Governors will sign the legislation.
With the passage earlier this year by Oregon, Colorado and Missouri become the 7th and 8th states to pass the KCPA. This is a momentous moment for all kratom protectors! Already in 2022 working together we have defeated numerous state kratom ban attempts, and now passed three more crucial pieces of consumer protection legislation.
With your donations and grassroots support, the AKA is still actively working to pass KCPA in numerous states: including Kansas, Rhode Island, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.
There are interim committee or other types of reviews ongoing in Washington, Hawaii, South Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, Illinois, Vermont, Connecticut, Texas, New Hampshire, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Florida.
Thanks to everyone who has provided magnificent support to allow for the AKA’s efforts to continue this fight to keep pure and safe kratom legal and accessible to American consumers.”

Kratom Legality Updates via the AKA
for the states of MS, FL & WI…
Just in via the American Kratom Association:
FLORIDA Senate Hearing on KCPA:“Dear Kratom Protectors:

I had the honor of testifying before the Florida Senate Committee on Commerce & Tourism on SB 1076, the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, on Tuesday, January 18. Prior to the Hearing we had the opportunity to share the kratom story with a number of members, and the Committee voted unanimously to pass the KCPA with a favorable recommendation.

There are two more Committee Hearings on the Senate side before the KCPA goes to the House, but this was an outstanding start in getting needed consumer protections for kratom consumers in Florida.

Thanks to all the Kratom Protectors who are working hard to support the KCPA.

With your support the AKA is working hard to pass KCPA legislation in Florida and just as hard to stop potential bans across America like new proposed bans in Washington State and Kentucky.

Mississippi Kratom Ban Update:

“We had great news with the filing of the Mississippi Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) by Senator Jeff Tate. Senator Tate has been concerned about kratom and even announced he would file a bill to ban kratom, but he has listened to kratom advocates and reviewed the science on kratom. His support for the KCPA is a very important step towards passage.

PROPOSED MISSISSIPPI KCPA

However, there is bad news too. There are two new kratom ban bills filed in Mississippi that the AKA is working hard to stop. We will reach out soon on how you can help share your story to show why the KCPA, and not bans, is the proper way for states to ensure kratom is pure and unadulterated for their citizens.

PEARL RIVER BOARD MEETING

The presentation will take place on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11am.

PRE-MEETING AKA ADVOCATE GATHERING: 10:30 AM outside of the Supervisor’s Board Room with Mac Haddow at the County offices at 200 South Main Street, Poplarville, MS.

This is not a public hearing on any ordinance that would ban kratom, and advocates are asked to not sign up to speak until that Hearing is scheduled.

The Pearl River Board of County Supervisors has invited Mac Haddow, Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the American Kratom Association, to discuss the science supporting continued consumer access to safely formulated kratom products.”

Wisconsin Kratom Ban Update:

“The FDA’s false attacks are starting to crumble in the states they misled into enacting bans on kratom.

The Wisconsin House State Affairs Committee voted 9-2 to repeal their ban on kratom and replace it with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act.”

2022 Kratom Ban Updates: The Good, The Bad & The Ugly…

Starting with the ‘Bad & the Ugly’ (the Good is at the end)

Just in via the American Kratom Association:

Dear Kratom Protectors,

Even after our great successes in 2021 with the WHO decision victory, 2022 is starting with fresh attacks on kratom consumers!

Kentucky Kratom Ban:

A bill to ban kratom was filed in Kentucky on January 4.

Washington Kratom Ban:

Then another ban kratom bill in the State of Washington on January 11.

Bans in local counties and cities are increasing.

An online news organization is printing attacks on the kratom advocates, the scientists who do research on kratom, our allies, and the AKA — all by a journalist who claims his nephew died of a kratom overdose. Every death is tragic, but there are times when assumptions based on misinformation or outdated science need to be reevaluated.

Nonetheless, the attacks are vicious.

The attacks are full of distortions, misleading information, and in some case information that is just plain wrong and all designed to divide the kratom community and stop our successes.

We need you help more than ever to fight back.

We have to get the truth about kratom in front of Kentucky and Washington State legislators — and county officials in Mississippi, Florida, California, and more.

The GOOD news below, in Wisconsin:

Wisconsin Update

The Wisconsin House State Affairs Committee voted 9-2 earlier this month to replace the current kratom ban in Wisconsin with the Kratom Consumer Protection Act (Assembly Bill 599). This is a very important step in correcting the mistake made when Wisconsin policy makers believed the FDA’s anti-kratom attacks.

We will need your support to contact the Wisconsin House members when AB 599 is up for a vote (and Senate members after that vote). As soon as we know the schedule for that vote we will send an Action Alert to ask for your help.

Thanks to every kratom advocate for your support in helping us get to this historic point. We need Wisconsin to be the first of the six states who were misled by the FDA in their kratom bans.

WHO ECDD RECOMMENDS AGAINST CRITICAL REVIEW ABOUT KRATOM

The American Kratom Association has received initial reports from the World Health Organization Executive Committee on Drug Dependency’s report from the October meeting and they stated:

“The Committee concluded that there is insufficient evidence to recommend a critical review of kratom.”

KEEP KRATOM LEGAL: BI-PARTISAN LETTER SENT TO BIDEN ADMINISTRATION

“Senator Mike Lee and Congressman Mark Pocan recently cosigned a letter to the Biden Administration to stop kratom bans.

AKA applauds U.S. Sen. Mike Lee, Congressman Mark Pocan for calling on Biden Administration to oppose efforts to ban Kratom

Lawmakers pen letter to Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield and HHS Secretary Becerra

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The American Kratom Association today applauded U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah and Congressman Mark Pocan of Wisconsin for their efforts to prevent a potential international ban on kratom…Their letter calls on Biden Administration officials – specifically U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra – to oppose a move by the World Health Organization (WHO) that could add kratom to the 1971 UN Convention on psychotropic substances. Full text of the letter is included below.

“We are grateful for Sen. Lee and Congressman Pocan’s support in urging the Biden administration to oppose efforts at the international level to ban kratom,” said American Kratom Association Senior Fellow on Public Policy Mac Haddow. “American consumers, scientists, and lawmakers have previously and clearly voiced their opposition to domestic efforts to schedule kratom as a controlled substance. It is critical that federal officials at Health and Human Services and our representatives to the UN stand firmly in defense of the will of the American people and not allow the whims of international actors to dictate our domestic policy…”

💡HOW TO RESET & REDUCE KRATOM TOLERANCE

How to Reset & Reduce Kratom Tolerance

Below are some details regarding the following herbs that have successfully reduced and/or reset kratom tolerance for those ‘in the know’ for many years.. Please be aware that it may not work for everyone if it’s not done exactly how it’s laid out below.
All of these kratom tolerance resetting herbs (& more) are available here:
This is an effective ‘weekly’ kratom tolerance flush to get the most out of your green veins, red veins, yellow veins and white veined kratom strains.

Ashwagandha for Resetting Kratom Tolerance

Ashwagandha + Rhodiola:

This helps reset or drastically reduce tolerance to kratom in around 24 hrs (as long as you stick to the rules below).

  1. Use no less than 0.60 gm to 0.75 gm of Ashwaghandha extract and make a note of the time (it will be around this time 24 hours later that it’s work has been completed).
    1. It’s best to take the Ashwagandha at around 5 pm in order to sleep off most of the effects.
  2. During the next 24 hrs, stay away from using any red or green kratom or at most, use no more than 3-4 times per day – 3 gm or less at a time (the less used the better the cleanse works). A good trick is to use only white veins during this period as it does not conflict with the reset as greens and reds do (which wastes the entire effort).
    1. Ashwagandha reduces the effects of greens/reds as well, while in your system – which is another reason to wait the full 24 hrs (if making the effort effective isn’t already reason enough).
  3. Rhodiola for Resetting Kratom ToleranceAfter 5 – 8 hours into the Ashwagandha cleanse, use circa 0.50 gm of Rhodiola extract. This will super-charge the cleansing effect of the Ashwagandha, it’s an important part of the process.
    1. It’s best to take the Rhodiola in the morning after taking the Ashwagandha. The Rhodiola itself takes circa 8 hrs to perform it’s cleansing business. During this time, greens and reds will not work or be diminished by 70% or more (yet another reason to not use them during the full 24 hrs).
    2. Rhodiola is actually a bit stimulating so it’s best not to take it too late at night if you’re sensitive to stimulants.
Sometimes the 24 hrs cleanse is closer to 36 hrs, depending on body chemistry (I don’t know why exactly but I’ve only experienced this about 15% of the time).
These are both ‘adaptogenic’ herbs so they reset your system and reduce stress – you may be a bit tired during the process, but it’s worth a speedy tolerance cleanse that lasts for days or longer, usually.

Chinese Cat’s Claw:Chinese Cat's Claw for Resetting Kratom Tolerance

  • This is an herb that also helps reduce tolerance, you can take it with the Ashwagandha /Rhodiola bundle as stated above – weekly or bi-monthly or ‘as needed’.
  • The amount to use is between 0.25 gm to 0.50 gm per session.
Important to Note: We offer you the aforementioned information solely for scientific & research purposes. If you have any health issues that may be exacerbated by consuming herbs – it’s best to look into the side effects of these herbs prior to using and not mixing them with prescription medications or other substances unless you know it’s a safe combo (please research it).
